Allergy Shot Policy

Patients will need to schedule an allergy shot appointment.

Shot patients are reminded to take an antihistamine at least 2 hours before getting their injection and to carry an epinephrine injector with them. If a patient experiences an allergic reaction after leaving our office, they should use their epinephrine and then go to the nearest emergency department to be treated. We recommend you wait in your car and use the St Vincent Neighborhood Hospital across the street from the office on 146th Street if you have a reaction.

Screening Questions: If the answer is "yes" to either question, please stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days. 1. Have you or anyone in your household been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days? 2. Have you or anyone in your household had any fever, respiratory symptoms or illness in the last 14 days?

  • 1. Patients must call to schedule an allergy shot. No walk in appointments will be allowed.
  • 2. All shot patients should have a credit card on file to pay for injections.
  • 3. Only the shot patient and parent may come into the office.
  • 4. Anyone entering our office needs to wear a surgical mask per CDC guidelines.
  • 5. The shot nurse will not answer any general patient questions. Call the office before or after your allergy shot appointment if you need to talk to the triage nurse.
